In early June, Redskins owner Dan Snyder reached a deal to buy three local AM radio stations from Clear Channel Communications, including Sportstalk 980 WTEM. The deal essentially gave Snyder's Red Zebra Broadcasting control over sports talk radio in Washington. As a result ESPN Redskins Radio and Sportstalk 980 WTEM have combined into ESPN 980.
