Can the Matron of Honor be single?

The distinction between a Maid of Honor and Matron of Honor fall into two categories: (1) marital status and (2) age.

Marital Status.

Most, but not all, references define the Matron of Honor as a married woman. Those that do not indicate the Matron must be married indicate she is an older, trusted woman.

Age.

With respect to age, a Matron of Honor is generally thought of as older and more mature than a Maid of Honor.

While, strictly speaking, a Matron is a married woman, it is also acceptable to call an older, unmarried woman the Matron of Honor.

If you are a teenager wearing a deep purple dress to a wedding you have dark brown hair what makeup should you wear?

Since the dress is deep purple and your hair is dark brown your make up should also be darker. You could wear black or dark eye liner and use deeper shades of eye shadow for a smokey eye look. Just remember not to put on too much eye makeup. A little foundation and blush should complete the look.

Who far in advanced should u send out wedding inVitations?

6-8 weeks before your wedding day. Any closer to the day than that and people will be shuffling around trying to get those days off of work, childcare and transportation. You will end up with more negative RSVP's because you waited too long and left your guests with little time to prepare to attend your wedding. Any farther out than 8 weeks and guests will forget (not all, but it's much more likely). If you are having a wedding that is somewhat far to travel for most of your guests, it wouldn't be a bad idea to send out a "Save the Date". A "Save the Date" is a notice in the form of a card, magnet, e-mail (whatever you want, those are just examples of typical ways that people choose) that let's people know that A. You are getting married B. They are invited and should expect to receive an invitation in the mail sometime later and C. The date, time and location of your wedding. "Save the Dates" aren't necessary but if your guests might benefit from 4-6 extra months to get ready to attend your wedding (get that day off from work, buy plane tickets, rent a car, reserve a hotel room, buy you a gift, get a new outfit to wear to the wedding, etc.) because it's far away from them and requires extra arrangements to be made; then send them to guests between 4-6 months before the wedding. "Save the Dates" in no way replace the wedding invitation. They merely allow guests to "Save the Date", so that they can mark their calendars and reserve that day for your wedding only.

Why do some non-virgin and pregnant brides wear white?

It's the 21st Century - most people don't care about "old-fashioned" attitudes about what color wedding dress to wear anymore!

Seriously, virginity is "nobody's business" and I'll admit a VERY pregnant bride would look tacky in a white dress unless it's a maternity dress!

What is the cost per plate dinner at a wedding reception?

It depends what your budget is allowing and how many guests you are having. Generally for a medium to fancy wedding it's $26 - $100/plate plus tax. Shop around and get different quotes. If it's too expensive there is nothing wrong with having a beautiful outdoor wedding and hiring a caterer to have a delicious buffet for your guests.

Is the groom required to give gift to bride on wedding day?

The groom isn't required to give his Bride a gift, but in recent years, the tradition of gift giving between the bride and groom has become more and more popular. In many circles, it is common for the bride and groom to exchange wedding gifts amongst each other.

I often get asked by grooms, "what would be a good gift to give my Bride-to-Be"?

Well, while jewelry and romantic getaways are nice, I think gifts that demonstrate a love and understanding of the recipient are more popular. A love letter, romantic poem, or card with loving wedding wishes is the one gift that is among the most treasured of all.

Love can be expressed in a myriad of different methods, but the most timeless and most treasured will always remain the classic "love letter" or "love card". Elite Glass Cards (www.eliteglasscards.com) offers beautiful glass cards, engraved with a special message; a message written by you. What better way for a groom to tell his bride "what you love about her" and "why you want to spend the rest of your life with her"?

Each Elite Glass card allows you multiple options, making the finished product your individual creation. You would (1) choose a style from their collection, and (2) choose or add your own words. Then, their expert craftsmen will create a beautiful and elegant engraved image that will last forever; a crystal glass card that will be cherished long after her thankful embrace.

Wedding gifts exchanged between the bride and groom should be symbolic of their love and commitment and what better way to express your love and commitment by writing your feelings on a beautiful crystal card.

So, besides giving your future spouse the obvious (a lifetime of love), I think the simplest and most wonderful gift a couple can exchange is something that comes from the heart - a "love letter"!
