Wellbutrin and Zyban

When I started taking Wellbutrin, I noticed immediately. It helps calm me down, helps with sleep, and with concentration somewhat.

People commit suicide when they feel that life is pointless for them, most often they are very depressed and don't see themselves as having any sort of good future. Other people may think 'why does that person want to die and why is she depressed?' but depression is a serious illness just like cancer, diabetes etc... people don't choose and don't know why they have it. All types of people with all types of different back grounds get it. Some people who aren't depressed or suicidal may say that those who commit suicide are 'selfish' etc etc.. but it's just like any other serious sickness that causes death- the depression got to much. Basically, feeling depressed and suicidal is the worst feeling (i know...), and it is often made worse because people can't SEE it, like a broken bone or whatever, and you can't just 'cure' a mental illness. hope this answered your question!

Yes, they can be taken together, but talk to your doctor about the side effects first, because the risk of seizures is greatly increased and sometimes outweighs the benefits.

Skin pigmentation, either hyper or vitiligo, can indicate other disorders. Many of these disorders have symptoms which your doctor may recognize as depression without digging into biochemical causes.

For example, hemochromatosis causes skin hyper pigmentation commonly. It also has about an 80% coincidence of hypogonadism in men. No testosterone combined with lethargy, stressed liver may feel like depression. Blood test can check ferritin iron levels but a liver panel with counts for ACE, ALT and AST might warrant additional testing.

Or take Addison's disease, with minimal adrenal response, messed up salt levels and pigmentation issues. Again, you're going to feel tired and experience mood disturbances that may suggest depression.

Or how about low thyroid, vitiligo is a symptom. Vitiligo is absence of pigment but hyper pigmentation can occur around these patches.

I would have a blood test to look at endocrine, salt, iron and liver counts. Otherwise, you may be on to something.

Yes those are safe. You can take antibiotics and antidepressants together. Remember to take all of your amoxicillin even after you start feeling better. You want to kill all of the bacteria and not leave any hiding inside your body!

You can cause your liver and kidneys damage. Wellbutrin is meant to be taken at a maximum of 150mg per dose, up to twice per day (morning and evening) Each pill has a timed release of medication; meaning it slowly 'dissolves' keeping your dose at a steady rate throughout the day or evening until your next pill. It would be wise to phone the pharmacy at once to find out if they recommend inducing vomiting or a trip to the ER to be sure your internal organs don't shut down...of course the severity is all based on how many more than what your prescription is for, you have ingested.

Yes! That is the worst side effect...for me anyway.

Very common side-effect of Wellbutrin.  Discuss with your physician and they can prescribe you something to take in the evening.  Also, you do not want to take Wellbutrin after 4pm at the latest.  I take wb in the day and xanax before bed.

You can, but they can interact with the same enzyme in the liver, so typically, we will start the Strattera at a lower dose than someone who is not on Zoloft (or any of the other SSRIs).

Not that I know of. I've seen mostly anxiety, nervousness, and irritability from suddenly stopping SSRIs such as lexapro or wellbutrin. This answer is incorrect. Hair loss is a known side effect of Wellbutrin.

Not a good idea, there are side effects and taking more than the amount suggested could increase your chances of the negative side effects. Yes you can. Infact this is considered a great combination for these two medications. I took both myself. Doctors say Wellbutrin works very well with Adderall XR and Immediate release. Wellbutrin XL is considered to be on the "stimulant" side of anti depressants, so some may not do well on both.

I'm taking Wellbutrin XL and I'm taking Levothyroxine for my Hypothyroidism. My doctor says it's ok. My depression is under control, my ADD is not that bad and so far it has control my appetite too but no weight loss. I still have symptoms of hypothyroidism but I think it's because I haven't reached the right amount of Levothyroxine.

Buspar is a common antidepressant, but it can cause a negative reaction if taken with antibiotics. Namely, it can cause excessive drowsiness, dizziness, and very high blood pressure.

Any time you take a psychoactive drug like Wellbutrin you will need to use caution before operating heavy machinery or driving a vehicle. Wellbutrin and other drugs can cause dizziness and/or drowsiness which may affect your ability to drive. You need to wait to see how the medicine affects you before you get behind the wheel.

I was prescribed Zoloft for Anxiety Disorder several years ago. Afterwards, a friend introducted me to another approach that has solved my Anxiety issues and allowed me to be free of a approach such as Zoloft. I still remain a client. Try Nutriessentials. Are you depressed???? If your doctor has prescribed it, and you have any of the various depressive or anxiety disorders it is a very good idea to take Zoloft. Even people who prefer not to take drugs find it gives them the start they need to be able to continue on with other methods in the future. At a certain point in these illnesses, it is very hard to recover without some drug assistance to boost the brain chemicals to an acceptable level. The difference it can make to lives is worth the effort, although it will not work for everyone. The time you need to be on it varies as to how low your levels are, but it is not addictive or mind altering in the same way the old style depression medications were. Even so, you cannot stop taking it suddenly.
