well i like my whiskey with a bit of smoke so i take some jeans over a fire and boil them in my blend to give it a crisp, smokey flavor. and adding my own feces to it gives it a personal, nutty touch.

Whiskey is a shortened form of usquebaugh, which English borrowed from Gaelic. Between 1100 and 1300, distillation spread from Ireland to Scotland,[7] with monastic distilleries existing in Ireland in the 12th century. A whiskey can only be called a Bourbon if it meets several requirements.

1. It must be made in the United States. (it is not required to be made in Kentucky as commonly supposed as there are bourbon distilleries in Virginia, Tennessee, and small bourbon distilleries elsewhere too). However bourbon, like the name Whiskey (spelled with an "e") is limited to the United States.

2. The raw alcohol must not have additives and must be stored in only a charred oak barrel for a minimum of two years.

3. The grain content can vary but must have at least 51 percent corn.

4. It cannot go into the barrel above 125 proof, and the best whiskey is diluted to between 40 and 45% alcohol.

Whiskey is aged by putting the liquid in white oak - wooden casks and storing it for several years.

A pint (16 oz) is equal to about 10.7 shots (1.5 oz each). Men can metabolize about 1 shot an hour. Women, OTOH, metabolize the first shot in an hour but afterwards metabolize about half as fast. So ladies, beware the black out or talking to Ralph on the big white porcelain phone. So for guys, 10.7 hours to metabolize.

90 proof means the alcohol content is 45%, by volume.
200 proof = 100%
180 proof = 90%
and so on.

Unopened, the liquor should last for several years. However, once it is opened, it should last about a year, just as long as you are sure to store it in a cool and dark place, like a pantry or liquor cabinet. Even unopened, I would still recommend keeping it away from too much light and heat.

Scotch is a tradename and must meet requirements for ingredients, distilling, aging and blending to be called "Scotch". Whiskey is more generic referring to any distilled drink made from grain mash, fermented and then distilled one, two or three times then stored in charred wooden barrels to "age" the whiskey and gain its brown color. In some cases the aging process is skipped as in the production of "moonshine", which techically could be called young unaged whiskey.

When communicating with bottle experts online, it is very important that you are able to describe all details of the bottle including height, color, mold seam, markings on body and base, etc.

No. Keep it away from damp because of the label, keep it away from direct sunlight to keep the colour. Keep it at constant temperature to avoid expansion and contraction of the liquid inside the bottle.

you must be in the UK since US bottles are 75cl. therefore at 25ml measures you'll get... do the maths.
