Whiskey is usually made from corn and/or other cereal grains. The only alcohol that I know of that is made from potatoes is some vodkas. Vodka, to my knowledge. You're probably refering to the Irish moonshine known as Pocheen (poo-cheen). This has been illegal for a number of years due to it's potency however there is now a weaker version available on the commercial market.

Ingredients:

1 cup soft breadcrumbs

1 teaspoon tomato sauce

1/2 teaspoon curry powder

500g sausage meat

4 eggs hard-boiled

1 cup dry breadcrumbs

Method:

Mix the breadcrumbs, tomato sauce, curry powder and sausage meat together. Divide into four. Pack each quarter firmly around a hard-boiled egg, using wet hands. Roll in the dry breadcrumbs. Microwave on High (100% power) for 1 minute, turn and microwave for a further 1 minute.
