What are the WikiReviewers?

User Avatar
The WikiReviewers is a quality control group here on WikiAnswers. We accept regular users and supervisors alike. The group's main goal is to improve the quality of the site's content. The WikiReviewers improve questions and answers on the site. Some answers are full of useful information, but can use a little help with spelling or grammar. Other answers have been added to so many times, they could use a little pulling together. Then there are the old unanswered questions that have fallen in the cracks. They are pulled out, dusted off, and given the full treatment. The WikiReviewers is divided into subgroups. This list will also tell more about what the group does. Literary Editors - The Literary Editors' main job is finding and confirming plagiarism. They will then add resources or do rewrites. Copy Editors - The copy editors work on spelling and grammar across the site. They clarify answers, and balance out one-sided or skewed statements. Archive Researchers - Archive researchers tackle questions that have sat unanswered for long periods of time. Some of these will be more difficult questions, and will need some looking up. They may recommend some of the more interesting selections for the featured questions list. Editors at Large - Editors at Large scan the site for problem areas and potential projects. They also do a little bit of each of the jobs from the other groups, without specializing in one. The team is looking for registered users in good standing to work on a variety of editing projects. The team members should have solid skills in writing, spelling, and grammar, and there is a short application quiz. Due to COPPA laws, we can only accept users age 13 and over at this time. You also will need to have 20 quality answers in your history. If you are interested in joining the team, please fill out the WikiReviewers New Member Application at the related link below.

What is a managing conservator?

User Avatar
It is a term used in some states to indicate who retains custody of a minor child. If parents share equal custody they are joint managing conservators. If one parent retains primary custody he or she is the sole conservator and the non-custodial parent is the possessory conservator.

Why is it that you are getting a written warning from management for antagonizing your supervisor when he hit you with a trash bin.?

User Avatar
It means you are on your way out the door. Neither management nor your supervisor value you as an employee. If you want to keep your job, get on the team and make your boss happy; otherwise, start looking for another job.

What is the difference between a copy editor and a copy assistant on WikiAnswers?

User Avatar
Most of the subgroups in the WikiReviewers, including the Copy Editors, require a test to join. They are the members that have proven that they have exceptional writing and grammar skills. They are given assignments that require skilled writing abilities. This can be anything from the cleanup of answers with poor spelling to balancing out one-sided answers. Copy Assistants are the only group in the WikiReviewers that do not require a test to join. It could be that the person did not pass the test, were not confident in trying it, didn't want to take it, or they just wanted to brush up on the spelling or grammar skills. There could be any number of reasons. The Copy Assistants are given less involved assignments. They usually involve tasks such as fixing the spelling of an assigned word in questions across the site. Even thought the assignments are less involved, they still share the goal of increasing quality on the site. If they choose to test later, they can move into one of the other groups and take on bigger assignments.

How long does it take to get a reply about WikiReviewers?

User Avatar
It really depends on how busy it has been. The leader of the WikiReviewers program, Robin, will try to get back to people within a couple of days, but sometimes it takes a little longer. She will get to all applications and tests, but if it is taking a while, feel free to message or email her. She will be more than happy to let you know where things are.

What is a WikiAnswers 'Editor at Large'?

User Avatar
A WikiAnswers "Editor at Large" is a WikiReviewer who basically looks for all sorts of things to fix. Like a Floating Supervisor, the Editor at Large doesn't specialize in just one area, but spreads his or her interests and skills around to many areas, all for the purpose of making WikiAnswers a better place. Editors at Large are on the lookout for plagiarism, which they may then either fix themselves, or alert a Literary Editor to fix. They may decide to tackle some questions which have lain unanswered for a long time, or alert the Archive Researchers to these questions. Editors at Large might edit questions and answers where grammar, spelling and punctuation need improvement, or let the Copy Editors know where there's such a problem that needs fixing. Sometimes, a question has been merged and/or answered so many times that it needs tidying up, with the removal of irrelevant or redundant material. In essence, the Editors at Large are roaming editors with a passion for pedantic perfection!
Asked in WikiReviewers Program

Can you have more than one job at the Wikireviewers Program?

User Avatar
No, you may only sign up for one group. If you want to do a variety of different types of assignments, you can join the Editors at Large. They do not specialize in one type of assignment.

It is this question, since it was copy and pasted from the WikiReviewers test. There is a lot of extra information that does not apply to the question that was asked. There is odd formatting, leftover <HTML Tags>, or footnote numbers [2].
