The current version of Windows 8 is Windows 8 Consumer Preview.Which is the Beta version of Windows 8. Yes,you can install and run Windows Mail for Windows Vista on Windows 8, just like you can on Windows 7. But to get Windows mail working in Windows 8,you must have the dill file Msidcrl30.dill in order for Windows Mail to work on Windows 8.

Msidcrl30.dill is included in both Windows Vista and Windows 7 but it is not included in Windows 8. So first you have to install the dill file on Windows 8 in order to get Windows Mail working.

To do this you need to go to either your Windows Vista or Windows 7 computer.Then go to your Windows/system 32 folder on C drive. In the Windows/system 32 folder look for a dill file called Msidcrl30.dill. Then copy and paste the dill file into your My Documents or My Downloads folder. And then make a new folder. Copy and paste the dill file into the new folder you have just made.Then right click with your mouse and select,send to zip folder. This creates a zip installer file.

Once you have done this you must copy the Msidcrl30.dill dill file onto your Windows 8 computer. And then unzip the file and open the folder,then paste the dill file in Windows/system32 on Windows 8.

Then copy the Windows Mail program files found in Programs on C drive onto Windows 8.The same way you copied the dill file. You can copy the files and dill file from your Windows Vista or Windows 7 computer onto your Windows 8 computer.Using a software like Team Viewer which lets you transfer files from one computer to your other computer.

Or you can copy the files using a USB thumb drive. And you can also upload your files onto a file sharing site like Mediafire,then you can just download the files onto your computer. This is very useful if you are away from home and you don't have your other computer with you. And if you upload your files to a file sharing site,you will be given a web link.That you can share with your friends so that they can download the program installer files onto their computer.

Then unzip the Windows Mail program file to programs on C drive. Windows Mail is now working on Windows 8.and you can set it as the default program just like you can on Windows 7.

Or you could just use the mail client built into Windows 8. :)

It depends on your internet speed and your computer speed. For me, it took about 2 hours to download the update and another 1.5 hours to install it. Many people have had to install it more than once though, and it is a real good idea to backup all of your files in case you have to factory reset your computer and download it again.

Inn Add or Remove Programs choose Uninstall a update from the left side menu.

To select which microphone you want to use in Windows 8, swipe the right side of the screen on the desktop or put your mouse in the bottom right hand corner. A menu with 5 icons should appear; select the gear that says "Settings". Then Click on "Control Panel". When the control panel windows appears select "Hardware and Sound". In the sub menu that appears select the "Sound" section. A small windows should appear. Select the "Recording" Tab at the top of the window. You should see a list of microphones that are connected to your computer. Select the one you want, click "Set Default" and click "OK". Exit out of the control panel and the microphone should record your sound.

Now that the "special offer" prices have been discontinued, there's less of a case. However, there are some advantages over Windows 7 that might persuade you:

Windows 8 boots more quickly; I upgraded my Vista laptop to Windows 8 and the boot time went from around 5 minutes to 25 seconds. Windows 8 uses less resources than Windows 7, which means that the PC will run faster, Explorer, task manager and, particularly, file copying has been improved over windows 7.

Whether these improvements are worth the cost and work of upgrading is really up to you!

Administrator permission required if you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation. Next you add port. In the Name box, type a name that will help you remember what the port is used for. In the Port number box, type the port number. Finally select TCP or UDP, depending on the protocol.

You can apparently 'roll back' a Windows 8 computer to Windows 7... HOWEVER - some computer manufacturers have said they will not repair a Windows 8 machine (even if it's still under warranty) if it's been rolled back ! They claim rolling a Windows 8 machine back to Windows 7 voids the warranty !

There are millions upon millions of lines of code in Windows 7 but that information hasn't been released yet so there is no way to tell for sure.

Depending on the system and the connections you will have the L/R (white/red) connections on either the panel that goes behind the unit or the unit itself. You would have used these connections to connect your TV/cable anything else you may have going through the Bose. Then just use a normal line out/audio cable, this will be black and red and then a normal audio jack at the end, black goes in the white terminal and red in the red obviously. You cannot get Windows 8 legally for free ! It comes pre-installed on new computers. Windows software - like most other programs is copyright material. downloading an illegal version just to get it free is theft !

The next consumer version of Microsoft Windows is known as Windows 7, however its final shipping name is still subject to change. It is scheduled to be released to the public around three years after the release of Vista, putting it at the very end of 2009 or very beginning of 2010.

This operating system will likely incorporate a wide number of changes, both to its inner workings and its user interface, but Microsoft has made public, on several occasions, that multi-touch support will be a big factor in this coming OS. Rumored features also include a new, improved backwards compatibility method (for running older programs) and a 3D desktop task-manager replacement.

Although in the past Microsoft has made mention of MinWin, a slimmed-down version of the Windows kernel, being the base of Windows 7's new kernel, but later reports indicate that it will be based on the kernel of Windows Server 2008 (which was based on Vista). It should be noted that the Milestone 1 build of Windows 7 was reported as using less system resources than Vista.

Windows Server 7 will be released along with Windows 7.

You can't download Windows Movie Maker on a Windows 8 tablet right now because Microsoft doesn't have an app yet for it. But the Microsoft company may have an app soon for it so this answer may be updated when they do have it.

Well it really depends on a few things such as what you mainly do on you're

computer the most, do you play a lot of PC games, and how familiar are you

with computer OS's generally? For an average consumer Windows 7 would be a

better investment due to the sheer fact that it is very user friendly and very

compatible to any type of computer user. Also Windows 7 is way more

compatible to most applications as it has been out for quite a while and

Windows 8 however is not 100% there with all applications yet. If you're main

focus on computers is strictly working, school, business etc. then Windows 8 is

for you, but it may take time getting used to the OS as it's not just a desktop

feature; another user interface is Metro which has many different types of built

in applications and adds for a whole new appearance and even though it looks

cool it can be deceiving. All in all, I only recommend Windows 8 for more

"experienced" computer users who are patient enough to get used to this new

and odd OS. If gaming is what you're looking for like I said earlier then go for

Windows 7 or even Linux Mint, because both are very compatible to any type of

user.

A license key is required for Windows 8.

It is not possible to use Windows 8 more than temporarily without a valid license key. Most installations will not be possible at all without one.
