They are both double-reed instruments. The oboe is like the soprano of this subcategory and bassoon is like the tenor or baritone-bass.
Yes you can its like low F but with your thumb key.
Yamaha clarinets are usually worth between $2200 and $3000.

Impossible to tell without more information. Wood or ABS plastic? Condition? Could be as little as $50 ~ $75 if it is an older ABS plastic model, playable but with visible wear to plating, scratches, etc.
By comparison BRAND NEW on-line competitive pricing on Yamaha clarinets starts out at around $800. Once you take it out of the store value drops considerably.
Clarinet, Oboe, Bassoon, Flute.
The woodwind family of instruments includes, from the highest sounding instruments to the lowest, the flute, piccolo, oboe, English horn, clarinet, E-flat clarinet, bass clarinet, bassoon and contra-bassoon.
These are woodwind instruments that would most likely play in a full orchestra but it can be changed depending on the and availability of players.
In an orchestra, the "normal key" is C. So, if you are playing a C note on a C clarinet it will sound as a C. On a B(B flat) clarinet, when you play C it will sound B flat. On an A clarinet a C will sound as if A was played and consequently on a G clarinet a C will sound as a G.
So for the clarinets B, A and G, music needs to be transposed (changed), so that we play the correct notes. This is done so we can switch between different clarinets. Otherwise we would need to learn different fingerings for all the different clarinets. The C clarinet is not transposed and we play it as it is.
I hope this makes sense... :)
That depends on you.
A saxophone a bit like playing the flute and playing the recorder (maybe clarinet I;m not sure)
Bearing in mind I play both flute and sax, I find flute easier. You shouldn't take my advice though, since I only started playing the sax at Christmas and I'm grade 7 at flute lol
Try doubling the pressure against the reed with your lip until it jumps an octave.
Double bass. An instrument has the pitch higher as it's size gets smaller. Violin is very high pitched. Viola is more mellow. Cello suffices for a dramatic or romantic song. And double bass is a wonderful accomplisher for working in groups. Or that's just my opinion. Anyway double bass is your answer. Have fun :D
oboes and bassoons
(and any instruments in the oboe and bassoon family, i.e. cor anglais, contra bassoon etc.)
well for most of us in the usa it was the foundation of our families in the south the Scots-Irish where the main settlers whene Europe first conolized america so for most of us Scotland gave us life whether you like it or not
You lick it then play with it. There is no quicker way.
Well you shoudnt really just lick it. Soak it in water for about 2 minutes and play on it for about 10 minutes. Do that for about 4-7 days.

In top-tier orchestras you usually 4 oboists, though typically one of them is officially the English Horn player.
A typical band or orchestra has two to three oboes.
It's usually the number of oboes required by a composer in any given piece. A Haydn symphony may require two oboes (or in some of his symphonies: NONE) while a tone-poem by Richard Strauss may require triple WW or more.

I have never heard of that brand, but for marching band you do not need a clarinet that is as good as your concert clarinet. I have two clarinets. One is a nice wooden Yamaha that I use for concerts. The other is a plastic one. I would definitely recommend using plastic for marching band as it will be exposed to the elements.
clarinets are so important because they are part of an orchestra and they are very special...

The reed vibrates and the sound goes through the instrument.
(Afgncaap8 disagrees, saying that clarinet music isdifferent from flute, and that it is the same as trumpet, but the clarinet has different music than the piano! The piano is a C instrument, whereas the typical trumpet and clarinet tend to be tuned to B-flat. However, usually the flute and the piano are both tuned to C, so their music could be the same.)

The oboe is almost always black. But wood oboes are made from Grenadilla or Rosewood have a slightly reddish hue in certain light. The keys are nickel plated, and are thus silver.
Bundy clarinets around that age usually sell for about $50 or less in decent condition. They are very sturdy and worthwhile to have. Unfortunately there are many on the market right now so that value has decreased.
