Charlie Parker was one of the best known ever. John Coltrane and Coleman Hawkins are also highly rated. BB King is a current jazz player still going strong.

First of all, be sure it is a clarinet ligature, not for Saxophone or bass/alto/E-flat soprano clarinet. Then, go to your local music store, band director and get a new one.

Traditionally woodwind instruments were all made out of wood obviously!

Oboes, clarinets, bassoons and cor anglais' are all still made out of wood but other instruments in the 'woodwind' family (flutes, saxophones, piccolos) are now made out of metal so are considered near relations to the 'main' woodwind instruments.

The bass clarinet add a different sound to the harmonies. Rather than the trombone or bass guitar, and bass saxophone . Its a different bass sound .

Absolutely not. One of the worst brands out there do not buy it if you have a choice. Terrible durablility and customer service. I write this in caps for a reason. Do not buy a merano sax.

It's called a reed, and it's used in several other instruments as well.

Yeah get hydrogen peroxide and put the reed in it that should kill the mold
