if your engine has a carb and is not fuel injected the fuel pump may be putting out more pressure and volume than the carb can handle. The rush of fuel may push the float down and hold it causing the carb to overflow. This would be a dangerous condition.
The location of the fuel pump in on the drivers side of the motor. When standing in front of the motor looking at it, it will be on your right side up front. If your looking the carb, there is a fuel line near the bottom left side of the front of the carb, that runs toward you, the front of the motor, and then curvs down near the distributor. That fuel line is coming from the fuel pump going to the carb. To replace you will need two line or open ended wrenches, and remove two bolts that hold the pump in place. Very easy to do.
Remove the fuel filter, the little bolt on top of the round part next to the carb. unbolt the two nuts that hold the carb to the intake. Remove the choke lever by pushing it in and twisting 1/4 turn to release it. The carb should come right out.
the fuel filter is located inside a fitting on the carburetor, where the fuel line goes into the carb....hold the fitting with a 1" wrench while you break loose the fuel line with a 5/8 wrench, unscrew the fuel line and then break loose and unscrew the fitting
Silicon's electronegativity is 1.90 on the Pauling scale. This value indicates silicon's ability to attract and hold onto electrons.
There is one by the drivers side rear wheel well, two hose clamps and a bracket attached to the gas tank get it off of the vehicle. Then don't forget the one underneath the hood before the carb. Two fuel lines go into the carb from this filter and again...just hose clamps hold it on.
The fuel filter is located in the left rear of the car ,next to the fuel pump. Just dont kink the hose when you reinstall it, very easy to do and the car will stall. Also there is a small filter that screws into the carb. This must be changed as well.It is located in the front of the carb but you must remove the air filter housing to reach it. 10 mm nuts hold it in place.
The fuel filter is located in the fuel inlet on the front right side of the carb. You will need a 1" open end wrench to hold the 1" side steady and a 5/8" flare nut open end wrench to remove the fuel line then use the 1" to undo the filter retaining housing to service the filter. Use caution here as the steel fuel line is tough to manipulate for clearance with out bending it and can be a real bear to line back up "if you do bend it" and get the threads to start so you can re connect it... Don't cross thread the filter retainer housing into the carb as the carb is made of soft metal or pot metal and is easily damaged and could cost you a new carb... Good Luck
Remove the air filter caseing disconenct the fuel pipe remove the bolts which hold the carb in place. L Davidson lawn mower tech
on the passenger side of the engine block down low, just follow the gas line from the carb back and you will see it, 2 bolts hold it in place.
