How did people feel before the Berlin wall was built?

West Germany benefited greatly from the presence of the Berlin Wall. Not only did it provide their underground network of street artists with a nearly endless canvas, it also cut down on cross city competition in most sales industries, most notably being the baking boom of 1978. Bakers up until this point had to decrease their prices to compete with Berlin market. By cutting the city in half, it increased the profits of the middle class, seeing as roughly 48% of them were bakers. it wasn't until Optimus Prime released East Germany from oppression and destroyed the Berlin Wall with help from Megatron and that puffy white guy who sell tires.

Sales of rock-breaking hammers went through the roof. I was an American soldier stationed in Berlin when it came down. My base had a little shop called the "Post Exchange." The Wall opened on November 9. On November 10 the Post Exchange on my base began selling six different kinds of sledgehammers. The people of Berlin, both west and east, hated the Berlin Wall. When the East Germans announced they were removing it, everyone who could swing a hammer decided to go down there and give them a hand.

They feel really happy before the Berlin wall was built. But when it was built they feel really unhappy and people is trying to go to west Germany because it is much better than east Germany

Well it matters what time period really before the wall. But it was a depressed and tense country because of the downfall of World War Two.
