Trying to write an essay on this for A.P. World History with no prior knowledge at all. Some research gave me this:
Architecture - 1 of the 2 major cities in Ancient Ghana became an Islamic "hub" where many mosques were built
Politics - Many high ranked politicians and royal subjects including the King were Muslim and/or Muslim interpreters
Demographics - Most people in Ancient Ghana who converted to Muslim were Sunnis, while only a small amount of them were Shi'ites
Trade - Islam was brought to Ghana by trade from Northern African societies, and Ghana then spread Islam to the rest of Western African civilizations such as Mali and Songhei.
That's all I've got so far. Hope this helps!
