British victory greatly improved British & Commonwealth morale. It prevented a German invasion of the British Isles, and allowed British/Commonwealth forces to combat the Germans & Italians in the Balkans, Mediterranean Sea, North Africa, East Africa, and the Atlantic Ocean. It allowed time for the United States to find more ways to help Britain. It proved the point that Hitler's Germany was not invinceable.

It also illustrated the difficulties of mounting an offensive air campaign against a modern military power that has a good figher defense & early warning network, in the absence of a land offensive.
