The way you know a mom is producing enough milk because, if you feed it enough water all day when it's thirsty it produces milk for the puppies. You should spend a lot of time with your female dog and your male dog. Feed them both lots of water everyday when they're thirsty so that the mom can produce milk and that the father has enough to drink overtime. You don't indicate whether the puppies are newborn or a few weeks old, but generally speaking, if the pups are developing properly and act content between feedings, they're getting enough milk. If they look poorly, whine a lot and/or constantly try to feed, they may not be. And as the first answer points out, make sure all your dogs always have a good supply of FRESH water.

What is a replacement for milk?

I'm not sure if this is what you're looking for but I know that a dog replacement milk is a milk that can be use to give to puppies when the mom can't produce enough milk or when the mom is no longer alive. Puppies are not allowed to drink milk except for this milk.

What do you do if your mom dog is not producing enough milk?

If the mother dog is not producing enough milk then the puppies need to be bottle fed. You can buy canned "Bitch's Milk" from most grocery stores and if not you can find it in your local Farm Supply/Feed Store(s) and/or Pet Store(s). As a last resort if you cannot find the the canned milk at those places call your Veterinarian and ask if they have/sell it. As a last resort you can order it through an online store.

Pug dog is bigger than she was and has milk coming from her nipples has she had puppies?

Actually it is more likely that your dog is about to have puppies - if she had already had the puppies her belly would be smaller than before. Dogs will start to leak milk a few days prior to delivering puppies; this is nature's way of making sure there is enough milk to feed the puppies.

Is it natural for there to be milk when the puppies are born?

How do you treat dog who has puppies and has mastitis?

The puppies need to be pulled off the mother until the mastitis clears up - you will need to feed the puppies with canned formula. You'll also need to milk the mother regularly so she doesn't stop producing milk, as well as give her antibiotics to clear the mastitis up.

How do i make more breast milk?

If you are not producing enough milk for your baby, you need to consult with your doctor about supplementing with formula. Some women simply do not produce high volumes of milk.

What can you feed your boxer so she can produce more milk for her puppies?

A good quality dog food that is complete with all the minerals, vitamins, nutrients, etc. is all you need to feed a nursing dog. As long as she eats a good, high quality, balanced dog food, she will produce the milk her puppies need. She may need to be fed more than her usual amount, since her body is working hard and burning more calories to produce the milk. Also, during the pregnancy, her body used many of the nutrients for the development of the puppies, so she may need a vitamin supplement, as well. Depending on your dog's general health, you may want to consult your vet about this if you feel your dog is not producing enough milk for her puppies.
