Modernization theory suggests that societies progress through stages of development characterized by economic growth, urbanization, and industrialization. Dependency theory, on the other hand, argues that developing countries are structurally disadvantaged in the global economy due to historical and ongoing forms of exploitation by more powerful nations. World-systems theory emphasizes the interconnectedness of the global economy and the hierarchical relationships between core, semi-peripheral, and peripheral countries.

What kind of theories of power argue that power is spread among many people in contrast to elitist theories?

Pluralist theories of power argue that power is dispersed among various groups and individuals in society, rather than being concentrated in the hands of a small elite group. Pluralist theorists believe that power is distributed across different stakeholders, interest groups, and institutions, leading to a more decentralized and democratic distribution of power. They emphasize the role of competition and negotiation among these diverse actors in shaping public policy and decision-making processes.

What are the theories about the disappearance of the neanderthals?

Some theories suggest that Neanderthals interbred with anatomically modern humans, leading to their disappearance through genetic assimilation. Others propose that environmental factors, competition for resources, or even direct conflict with modern humans contributed to their extinction. It is likely that a combination of these factors, rather than a single cause, led to the disappearance of Neanderthals.

What is examining a culture through its indigenous concepts and theories?
