No, bettas, like all living animals, need the regular cycle of night and day. Bettas also usually relax/sleep during the night because they feel like they're in a cave and more secure. Constant light can be stressful for the fish. Even in the day, do NOT keep them in direct sunlight as this will cause the temperature to flunctuate (very stressful) or overheat, as well as promote algae growth.
No, they do not need light at night, they enjoy light but, do not keep them too close to the sun as, this may cause discomfort. They are quite easy to care for, as long as they are provided a clean environment and are fed once a day. They can live for years and years! It is usually 3-4 in a bowl and in a tank 7-8. Have fun with your betta!
in the wild they pretty much just live in puddles but they only last a year. you should put your fish in a fishbowl or tank that has a couple gallons and at least has plenty of room to swim around. So as long as they have space and good clean water they should be fine and live 2-3 years. its also probably good to use a water conditioner just for bettas
No that's a horrible idea. It will keep them awake. Actually fish do kind of sleep. They just kind of float around in a sleeping like state. It also creates more algae when its not required.
no you should turn they off it can stress the fish
Well, Yes and no. Betta do like LIGHT to be able to distinguish night and day, they also need the warmth, but you can use a heater. betta fish do need light, but it is not good to keep a betta in direct sunlight as it may increase the temperature byy far too much. so just keep it in light at day, or get a lamp.
no they do not need light they need sleep.
yes but you will need to make sure the batteries are out and the flash light is clean By:fish expert Serena
It is absolutely ok to have a lamp by the betta fish tank, just make sure its not on 24/7, as fish need dark and light periods to function normally.
no it dosent
yes
Yes a light is healthy for a Betta, they need lights for warmth (the light will heat up the water) And Bettas get sick easily so without warm water they will get ill and lose there color and become a gray color.. Which is not pretty.
This depends on the personality of your fish. Although, your fish may get stressed out if they are in total darkness all of the time. For a fact: bettas hate direct sunlight!! Never put your betta in direct sunlight, even for a short period of time. If you must, put them in the shade.

well you first need at least a one gallon fish bowl and fish gravel and plants and stuff for them to hide in. fish food, and give them every once in a wile betta fish treats for fat.
Betta fish need to be kept in slightly warmer water, about 80 F. The water on top of the container is often warmer, especially if you have it close to a light source. It may be that the water is too cold.
