yes u have 2 bleed new clutch master cylinded, u will do this at the slave cylinder , do it like u would bleeding brakes. usually 5 or six times is enough. if it takes u alot of bleeding u have a air leak.
Bleed the clutch line that runs from the clutch master cylinder to the slave cylinder utilizing the bleed valve on the slave cylinder.
sounds like air in the system, to properly bleed the slave cylinder you must remove the mount screws and hold it so the bleed port is up
u must bleed the system . fill the clutch master cylinder with dot 3 brake fluid and keep an eye on it when bleeding so it wont run out ,have someone pump clutch pedal 3 times and hold to floor and oper bleeder valve on clutch slave cylinder till no air comes out then go to clutch damper and do the same ,follow clutch line fromclutch master cylinderto damper.
The clutch parts that wear out would be the clutch master cylinder and the clutch slave cylinder. Replacing the clutch master cylinder requires disconnecting the hydraulic line, unbolting and removing the master from the vehicle, bench bleeding the new master, install the new master then bleeding the system. Replacing the clutch slave cylinder requires removing the transmission assembly. I would recommend purchasing a shop repair manual for that vehicle if you want to DIY.
Its hydraulic ,you cant,check your slave cylinder to see if its leaking,its located thru a rubber cover on side of transmission,if leaking replace and bleed,also check clutch master cylinder,if not leaking,then you might need a new clutch kit.

answer remove 2 clutch pedal bolts and pin,remove the reservoir unscrew the fluid pipe,install the new one then bleed it very well
get a new one then bleed your brakes A new Ford master cylinder must be bench bled before it is installed, or it will be impossible to bleed the system later.

Probably remove the transmissionm if its a internal slave, if external then its mounted on the outside of the tranny. The master clutch cylinder is located on the firewall. Bleed the system and pump the hell out of the clutch after installing the new slave. : On a 99 GST it is an external cylinder (2) 10mm bolts remove the line replace cylinder bleed system.
If no signs of leakage at slave operating cylinder,then check clutch master cylinder for leakage,and look at clutch pedal and see if you see any clutch fliud as rod comes thru firewall.follow all lines.
