What are Siberian huskies strengths and weaknesses?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Siberian Huskies were first bred to pull heavy loads across miles of ice and snow in sub-zero conditions, so pulling and surviving in cold weather is their strongest points. They do not do well in hot weather (due to their thick coats) and need lots of daily exercise. They also shed alot throughout the year. They are usually friendly and well-balanced dogs that rarely suffer from health problems unless they are from inbred lines.

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

The Siberian huskies are dogs that are not for the average dog owner, since they are very stubborn and hard to train and control. They shed alot of fur twice each year and need lots of exercise (walking is not enough for this super energetic breed),or else they become very aggressive and dangerous and destructive ( classified 4th most dangerous and aggressive dog after the German shepherd due to its attacks on strangers, other dogs, kids etc.)

How many Siberian huskies are in the US?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

5 to six per litter. Or, it depends on how many times you have bred the female. If you bred her 3 to 4 times she may only have 3 to 4 puppies. Age and how many time you breed your female matter. It doesn't really matter how many time you breed your male. Keep this in mind, young dogs make the cutest puppis!!!!!!!!!!!!
The amount of puppies a husky can have is up to the amount of nipples they have, for example, if a husky has six nipples they can have up to six puppies, but that doesn't nessacarly mean they WILL have that much, it is just possible, and sometimes the dog can have more.

It is important to keep your vet in the loop for pregnancies, a scan at 5 wks is a good indicator to how many approx, pups are in the pregnancy, although not conclusive it will give an indication, on average a husky will birth 3 - 7.

Are pomerians related to huskys?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

If it's a Pomeranian dog and an Alaskan Klee Kai bitch, then yes, but if it's the other way, then I wouldn't advise it. A Pomeranian bitch would have a lot of difficulty whelping, because the pups would be too big. She Pom bitch could die from stress or loss of blood
