You need a new window regulator assembly. About $100 at the dealer.
i am going to be doing this this weekend....this is how my chilton says to do it lower window to down position(if you can) remove door panel remove window weatherstripping remove black window surrond(should be a screw on top of surrond towards back edge) then stationary window should unbolt then remove pins that hold operator to track pick up and pull out the operating window
The rear track of the 2004 Jeep Grand-Cherokee is 4 ft. 11.5 in. (59.5 in.).
caravan's have a plastic cogged track that easily breaks over time. When it breaks the window track will travel down but broken will not pull back up. This is so common HELP sells a new Chrysler window track for 12.99 but have fun, working inside doors are always awkward.
There could be several causes for this type of problem: 1) The power window up portion of the switch is not functioning or wiring is loose at the switch and or motor. 2) The motor is failing and is not providing enough force to raise the window or is off-track and inding. To check this condition lower the window , then grasp the window and when the up button is pressed assist it(leave enough space to ensure you do not pinch you hand.in the window frame) if the window motor operates and the window begins to rise the window could be binding or the motor replaced. in either case the door panel will need to be removed the electrical switch and motor are tested and the mechanical operator and track inspected for proper operation.
Motor may be OK but it sounds like the window came off its track; possibly because of a defective slide. In any case you will need to remove the door panel to check it out. Remove any screws holding panel onto door; disconnect battery; unhook any power locks, window switches, etc., as they become accessable. The doorpanel is usually held at the edges by plastic clips, remove them slowly as not to break them. All this can be done with basic hand tools.Once you get in there you should be able to figure out the problem. pls see... http://www.faqfarm.com/Q/What_is_wrong_when_the_front_passenger_power_window_motor_sounds_like_it%27s_going_to_work_but_then_stops_and_the_window_will_not_move_on_a_1999_Jeep_Grand_Cherokee
First you need to take the handles and door panel off. Then you need to see whether the window has jumped off the track or if the track has come apart or is broken. If it has jumped the track, put some silicone caulk in the track and set the window back in. Make sure the track is in the down position. After replacing the window in the track, roll it all the way up and leve it for a few hours. If the track has broken, you will neew to find out where it is broken and fix or replace it. There could be a broken weld which a GOOD welder can fix for you. If you're not a professional welder do NOT try to do it yourself. It is a precision fit.
It's usually because the window has jumped off the track.
To set the power window back on track in a Ford Focus, you have to remove the door panel. Once you get in there, you will see the track that you will need to put the window back on.
Because the window probably jumped the track or the track has become disconnected somehow. Pull the door panel off and you should easily be able to determine what it is and fix it. well the motor is connected with some belt or any other thing to move the window may be that belt got sliped from motor or broken due to this motor is running freely.
If your window is like my grand am the glue that holds the track and window together is not holding properly, so window keeps coming off track. I have not found a glue that holds yet.
Either the power window motor is bad or the window is binding in the track mechanism.
You will need to remove the inside door panel of your Chevrolet Blazer. Remove the window retaining clips. Put the window back into the window track. Tighten the window retaining clips.
Remove the inside door panel of your 1999 Chrysler Intrepid. Remove the window retaining clips. Put the window back into the window track. Secure the window with the window retaining clips.
If a power window goes off track on a 1999 Camaro, the door panel can be removed and the window put back on the cable track. The door panel can be removed by opening the clips on the corners. If there are lights in the door panel, the light covers need to be removed first.
By pushing the button downwards
Remove the inside door panel. The entire power window mechanism will be visible. Put the window back onto the window track.
First take the door panel off and inspect the wires, the window track, and motor. My tempo has a stuck window as well. My window track is really rusty, and I think could be the issue.
