Recharging the ac on a car isn't something that can be done by the home mechanic. it needs to be taken to a dealer or somewhere there are certified personnel to do that sort of thing. There is a special refrigerant that needs to be put into the cooling system, which is R-134a. So your best bet would be to call around your local listings to find a place that can do that for you.
DON"T BELIVE THAT GUY. HE WORKS ON CARS AND WANTS YOUR MONEY.
DO THIS INSTEAD:
Go to a place like Walmart and buy an R-134a AC recharge kit. Follow the instructions enclosed.
Done. Saved you a bunch of cash!!! Cost me $25 when I did mine last week. It was super easy!
^This guy is right--you can do that, but it wont last that long because a shop adds the needed oil to the system that the Wal-Mart cans do not have. And trust me, if the system is out, there is a leak, so don't waste your money at Wal-Mart.^This is not true. There are different types of kits available, and the complete ones do include a can of oil. This is important because the compressor must be properly lubricated, but the mineral oil that R-12 systems use is incompatible with R-134a. R-134a requires the use of synthetic oil. However, this shouldn't concern you because 1995 GM cars came from the factory with R-134a!It will have to go to a garage with the correct equipment to evacuate the system and then recharge it, its not possible to do this at home.Hope this helps
You are low on refrigerant, google R134a...
The ac recharge port is the low side port. It is on the hoses on the passenger side of the engine close to the belts.

AC recharge port. is arms length down the left front of car on top of evaporaterator has a blue cap. Is very hard to reach your arm between the radiator and the motor to reach this port. You should get an extention for the recharge hose. I burnt my arm because you have to have the car running to actually put the 134a in.
