change your oil I had this problem a month ago and brought it to a shop for an oil change. While the oil change actually worked at reseting the "Change oil" indicator, the mechanic said something to the effect of pumping the brake (or maybe he said the accelerator) 5 times quickly will reset the light to off. I'm assuming this is with the car running and in park. He also said to turn off a low tire pressure indicator, you can toggle the headlights on/off several times quickly and that'll reset the tire pressure light. I'm not completely confident about these tidbits, but it's worth a try.

If the Impala is the same as my 2001 Monte Carlo with a 3.8 L engine, the resivoir is on the pass. side way down low in back of engine compartment. You need a bright light to see it and it is very hard to get at!
