Millions of people around the world live in cities and towns in deserts and all are quite normal. Most have indoor Plumbing, electricity, internet access, schools, stores, etc. Look at such cities as Cairo, Egypt, or Las Vegas Nevada. They work as doctors, lawyers, nurses, teachers, food workers, police officers, home makers, mechanics, clerks and any other occupation fund in non desert areas.
Depends on the water supply, the amount of shade, and how many other useful buildings are near by. Like a bank, hospital's, houses, and police stations. It also depends on how many harmful animals such as, some lizard's, snakes, Spiders live in that remote area. At the most, a good sized population is about 1,230 people in a large town with good hospitality.
Millions of people inhabit large and small cities in deserts throughout the world. In the United States, alone, the cities of Las Vegas, Phoenix, El Paso, Palm Springs and Tucson are desert communities. There are even larger desert cities elsewhere, such as Cairo, Egypt.

Desert people are very normal people from many different cultures. I live in the Chihuahuan Desert of Texas and consider myself as just a normal person that happens to live in a desert.
A desert isn't the best place. you will need many jugs of water. so you'd rather live in another place than a desert.
I don't think that many people would live there because its hard to grow crops and very hot at day and freezing at night. Some people there are nomadic (live like gypsies, move around) but there are villages. Another problem is getting water. Some villages there have to get it flown in for them or the village people will build a well.well many people actually do live there because on every research info you get it says there are more than 100 people living there, there are more than 100 species of plants there, there are more than 100 species of animals living there so there are actually many people and I have also visted the thar desert and there are a lot of living things!!!!!!
