there's a tensioner fairly obvious on the left side of the engine. The tensioners often lose strength on these engines. they're about 15 bucks depending on where you go. loosen the bolt on the swingarm of the tensioner and remove the belt. Re route the belt the same way. When you retighten the bolt on the tensioner and it will bring the belt back to the correct tension.
Check the cruise control switch that is set on a plate just in front of the brake pedal. Have 3 contacts, one for the stoplight, and other two (NC contacts) for the cruise control and the abs. Check continuity in all three contacts. In rest (depressed) mode two will show continuity and one not. if released, that inverts, one closes an two opens. If not, change the switch. This is a common failure. try this. It`s a start.... One more thing..... I located cable coming from throttle linkage going to a round metal contraption that had obious vacuum line hooked to it. I disconnected vacuum line and it spewed out air. I hooked it back up and my cruise control was fixed. Yee Haw! Sorry I'm a hillbilly from TN.
