It's not too much exercise- it's far too few calories, for essentially everyone. Most sedentary people need at least 1500-2500 calories a day, add on the massive expenditure from running, it's quite possible you're consuming less than a tenth of the calories you need. You'll begin to lose muscle mass as your body oxidizes protein to stay alive, and you won't be able to do much running at all very shortly.
