1) Discuss your career goals and state in about 200 words how being at FMS can help you to achieve these goals.

2)Why do you want to pursue a programme focussed towards Services Sectors

Speaking as a college professor who has taught a wide variety of subjects, including business and computers, I can tell you that I've never personally heard of an M.B.A. with a specialization in the service sector. Now I'm not saying that it doesn't exist, but it's new to me. There are are different sectors of the economy and perhaps somebody would want a degree more tailored to one over the others. So instead of getting a concentration in a specific area of study like marketing or management, maybe one wants something a little broader. I do know of degrees with concentrations in the public, meaning government vs. private sector, but service is a new one to me. Mission

Head & Dean, FMS Discuss your career goals and state in about 250 words how being at FMS can help you achieve these goals. With a background of IT and motivated by endless opportunities in this field, I want to start my own IT venture.

The most inspiring incident has been when my cousin sister got fellowship from University of Puerto Rico (US) and she went abroad to do her PhD. We used to hear stories about what she was doing there and how it mattered. I was in 6th standard then and was greatly fantasized. She has been the biggest inspiration for me. Gradually an ambition of achieving something bigger grew in me. When I got admission to BE in IT and came across great success stories like Google, Microsoft, etc, how these companies started just with ideas, I realized that this is my calling.

An MBA from a premiere institute would help me understand the theories about how businesses work and will give a direction and meaning to my ambitions. It also offers a promise of high-exposure, high-salary job. After 4-5 years in job, I believe I would have enough practical experience, a taste of ground reality and enough capital to kick off with my own venture.

I believe FMS can greatly help me achieving these goals. With its small batch size it offers a promise of better learning. Getting into FMS despite if its low intake ratio would be a big achievement in itself. The amount of Corporate and International exposure is quite high. Apart from that, specialization is chosen in second year only. So it offers a broader view of management before any specialization. Also, with FMS, I would not need any education loan.

Why do you want to pursue a programme focused towards Services Sector? (150 words) With a background of IT and ambition to start my own venture, I believe a specialized course in management of services can offer a significant learning. This programme is focused at services sector and so at IT enabled Services (ITeS) also which I am most interested in learning about. This programme can offer much useful insight into the aspects, problems related to this sector, their solutions and opportunities. With an increasing contribution of Services toward economy, I see many opportunities and great potential in this sector. I believe this programme would equip me with all the needed skills and knowledge that would help me grab opportunities lying in this sector and make the most of them.
