Lower your resting heart rate? Exercise. By training your heart, it becomes stronger- each pump will move a greater volume of blood. As a result, you're heart will need to beat less often at rest. Also, certain drugs, such as beta-blockers, will lower one's heart rate.

just relax

Just sit down and take a break for a moment and relax. It should slow down, if not within an hour maybe see a doctor

I've also found it easy to take big breathes!

I suffer from panic attacks, and found it easy to sit down and close my eyes and hold my breath (Inhale a big swoop of air) And hold it in for 10 seconds! Then slowly release.

Do the same 5 times and hopefully your heart rate should of decreased!

You could also meditate or possible cut down on the coffee/tea if you drink it!

Remember, the way to live a healthy heart is to eat healthy!

If your question is related to drugs, the above answer will not work. Cocaine, ecstasy etc are the really bad ones. Its part of the comedown, the paranoia of maybe having a heart attack or blood clots to the brain. I have not found or heard of anything that works, even taking prescription sleeping pills to lower your heart rate won't work. You feel even worse the next day.

If you do the crime don't complain about doing the time. My advice, don't mess with trying stuff to lower your heart rate when the fast rate was induced by drugs that can kill you in an instant. I know that mixing alcohol with drugs is really looking for trouble, but I have found that a shot or two of vodka, not anything else, it needs to be vodka, helps with the comedown a lot and you fall asleep quite easily too. I take no responsibility if you land up in hospital because of trying this, this is not a suggestion, it's merely an observation.

It's called meditation - you relax and sit or lie down while concentrating on your breathing and on thinking about nothing in particular. If you have thoughts pop up, just acknowledge them as thoughts and then let them go without dwelling on them.
