Sorry this is no answer. I'm having the same trouble w/ my 84 Accord...and had it w/ a 79. I couldn't figure it out so I junked it. Chrysler products used to do this and all you had to do was replace the ballast resistor. But I can't find such a thing on my car. I don't wanna junk my 84. The fuel pump only runs when the key is on the "on" position. ======================================================== When you turn your ignition key to the " RUN " position just before starting the vehicle , the ELECTRIC fuel pump will only run for 2 or 3 seconds if you don't start the vehicle . Try cycling the ignition key from the OFF position to the RUN position a few times if needed
