The phrases "eastern hemisphere", "Western Hemisphere", "middle east" and "far east" are all in reference to England. From the USA, the island nation of Japan is to our west - but from England, it is "far east". So the "eastern hemisphere" is eastern Europe, northern Africa, and Asia. Southern Africa, Antarctica and Australia are "Southern Hemisphere", while Western Europe and North and South America are "western hemisphere".

These descriptions are somewhat flexible; South America is both "western hemisphere" and "southern hemisphere", while few people would use "eastern hemisphere" to refer to Australia - even though it borders Indonesia, which _is_ "eastern hemisphere". Indonesia itself is rarely termed "southern hemisphere", even though most of it is south of the equator.

So, the "eastern hemisphere" would include Russia, India, Pakistan, Iraq and Iran, Bangladesh, Tibet, Nepal, China, Japan, Thailand, Myanmar, Cambodia, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia and the Philippines. I may have left out some.
