They stop eating altogether or just partly in the hope that it they will become more attractive. Unfortunately it is very bad for you. They tend to find it difficult to stop, their periods stop and they can get very weak and ill.
AnswerAnorexics see themselves as over-weight, but, it's actually a way to control their life because no one can make them eat. They may have had a life of too many restrictions and feel suffocated that everyone is telling them what to do. It's generally psychological, but I do believe it's not always a choice and I think science will find out it's a short circuit in the brain. Already they are finding there is something in the brain that can make some people obese.
Anorexics DO NOT eat protein (thus, the brain and other organs suffer from the lack of protein.) They will water down juices (not getting enough vitamin C or other vitamins they need), will eat mostly small bite sized pieces of veggies, fruits, salads and spread it around on their plate to make it look like more. They often love to cook for others, but seldom will eat much themselves. They will try any distraction they can so others won't notice they aren't eating much.
The beginning of the weight lossisn't too bad and the Anorexic feels they are losing the weight they want, but unfortunately, the habit has set in and enough becomes not enough. Soon the body starts to eat away at itself, the heart, lungs and other organs fail (mainly the kidneys and heart and it can lead to heart attacks.) Anorexia without treatment leads to death!
I wouldn't advise it. Period. Nor am I going to help you kill yourself.
It depends on the individual. Some anorexics only lose a few pounds, while some may lose 50 pounds. Usually, the average person who is anorexic will lose 20 to 30 pounds before treatment or intervention occurs.
Varies from person to person.
They can be bulimic but not anorexic. Actually, a person can certainly be mentally anorexic regardless of their weight. I believe that weight or BMI should not be so important when diagnosing anorexia. Anyone can be psychologically anorexic.
You're anorexic. I have an idea, work on your self esteem, not your weight.
Anorexia and bulimia are very serious eating disorders. People who are anorexic or bulimic can lose as much or as little weight possible. Some people can be 10 pounds underweight, some can be 40 pounds underweight. If you know someone who is anorexic or bulimic tell them that you are worried about them and strongly encourage them to get professional help.
Yourself.

How long it normally takes to lose 50 pounds can vary greatly from person to person. As a general rule, losing one to two pounds per week is a safe goal. If you lose two pounds per week it will take a little over six months to lose 50 pounds.
