We'll start from the end of the film where it shows Rob and Beth at Conney Island. As the camera looks over the ocean you'll hear some very quiet tinging/ringing bell sounds, as soon as they're over you see an object fly into the ocean. That's a satellite for a digging company which was digging in the ocean for a certain substance used in a Japanese drink. The satellite woke the monster up from the deepest parts of the ocean. The monster was a baby and went into the city after being awoken. It was scared because it was in the city - which is a very different place from the ocean. In Cloverfield 2 it is believed to feature the parents of the monster. If you want to know whether the monster survived the Hammerdown (Several powerful bombs going off), go to the very end of the movie, after the credits and you'll hear static then a voice that sounds like it's saying "Help us", that's Rob. When it's played backwards it says "It's Still Alive". There you have it - the monster survived. Also, the story behind the title, JJ Abrams (Producer of Cloverfield) goes down a road called "CloverDALE" to get to an office that he goes to. He got "Cloverdale" mixed up and put "Cloverfield" as the title since he didn't mind what it was called.
It's about a group of young new-yorkers that throw a going away party for their friend "Rob" or "Robbie" Until A Big "Earthquake" Happens And An Oil Tanker Gets Downed. Afterwards A Gigantic Monster Or Alien (No One Really Knows What It Is) Starts To Attack New York. It is A Huge creature with bent arms it uses to walk wwhile its back legs are rather short. Its neck puffs out to the shape of clovers. It Drops These "Tick" Like Creatures That Are About The Size Of A large dog. All of the footage is caught by a cameras point of view, also known as "captured footage" genre.
Its due to release in the pictures 1-17-08 in New Zealand/Australia. 1-18-08 for the US and 2-2-08 for the UK and parts of Europe.

It has no hair. It is as tall as a skyscrraper and its arms are longer than its body. It does have a tail (not that long), with a fin at the end. Ummm, this is the IMPROVED version: Ok, the monster was in a deep sleep underground. It was asleep for 1 million years. Then a oil rig exploded, which in turn woke it up. Of course, it decided to go on a rampage because it was woken up. It was furious. So the Manhatten military came in and harmed it. This made it very furious. Its description: A large, scaled beast with long arms. Small parasitic creatures fall off of it. It has an unknown appetite. But, it has a small tail and has a large mouth. It also has small throbbing air sacs on its head. Plus, its teeth are very close together. Thanks for asking!
CLOVER FIELD IS A MONSTER IN CENTRAL PARK/ CLOVERFIELD IS THE NAME OF THE MONSTER/ Cloverfield Is The Name Of The Movie.
THE MONSTER DOESN'T HAVE A NAME!!!! Cloverfield is the name of a Science Fiction/Horror of a baby monster rampaging through New York.
The short answer for this question is no. The large monster that can be seen a little in the previews drops smaller little "parasites". So, there is only one monster, but it drops hundreds of the smaller, man-sized things. Although many people have speculated on this question, none have proven that there is a second monster, although on viewing video evidence it seems there may well be a second. The Producer JJ Abrams said himself that the monster was "a baby", which must mean that there would be a mother/father and so breeds the question of two monsters in the film.
While the movie does not focus fully around finding out what the monster is, you do see the monster.
Cloverfield is the name of the case and the name of the monster is Clover, although it is never named so in the movie.
