>> there are several towns named for Washington, Jefferson, Madison, and Jackson and no doubt some other towns named for early presidents.
Some of our early presidents have given the United States not just the names of cities, but towns, villages, and state parks. I'm from Massachusetts, and the city of Quincy is named for John Quincy Adams. There are many towns and cities named Lincoln (after Abraham Lincoln), including Lincoln City IN, where young Abraham grew up. There are also a number of cities named for George Washington, including the home of the White House, Washington DC. Also, Jefferson City MO is named for Thomas Jefferson. Monroe MI was named for President James Monroe. And Jackson MS was named for then-general but later president Andrew Jackson.
Keep in mind that there are many places that have a U. S. President's last name that are not named after the president. For example, there are several places names Clinton that are not named after Bill Clinton.
