Radiologists or sugeons are generally the medical professionals who take the tissue sample known as a biopsy, and pathologists are the ones who identify the cells under the microscope. Anesthesiologists may be necessary if the biopsy is done as a surgical procedure.
What about: "The doctors had to do a biopsy on their patient so they could find out the problem in her leg." or more specifically: "After doing a biopsy through a small incision in her leg, her doctors checked the tissue sample for cancerous cells."
Make sure the person doing the biopsy uses sterile aeseptic technique. Perhaps a prophylatic antibiotic out to be given. Do not touch the area without hand washing or using a sterile dressing. Keep wound clean
Some do, and some don't. Many look at the breast to look for changes in the appearance of the breast such as changes in the skin, nipple or appearance of dimples. While I'm doing a breast exam I often look away or close my eyes in order to concentrate on what I'm feeling.Mary - Nurse Practitioner
There are many risks with breast reduction surgery. This is a major operation with all of the risks associated with it, e.g. problems with anesthesia, doctor error, etc.
its depend upon the procedure for doing lung biopsy(open lung biospy, needle biopsy, bronchoscopic biopsy,video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery and mediastinoscopy) the risk of death from needle biopsy is rare. The risk of death from open biopsy is one in 3,000 cases. In mediastinoscopy, death occurs in fewer than one in 3,000 cases.
Women who are pregnant should inform their doctor before a lymph node biopsy, although pregnancy will not affect the results.
I would hope so. Biopsies can be extremely painful, and pre-medication is a good idea (if it doesn't appear that the doctor is going to pre-medicate, request that he do so... take a personal interest in your own medical care).
a while [edit by Athena4299] That doesn't really answer the question... How long is "a while"?

A cone biopsy is only done after other tests have come back positive, so I don't think a second opinion is medically necessary. In order to practice as a doctor, all doctors have to have passed exams and be licensed to practice. If your smears have show cancerous cells and you do not feel comfortable with your doctor it may be better for you to work with another doctor as it is likely that the treatment will be emotional for you and may last a long time. But doing a cone biopsy after a positive smear test is normal, routine standard procedure.

Some doctors mistake a certain problem for another. Example: Heart disease for breast cancer. They also might proscribe the wrong medication. They might hive you to much of a medication. The less experienced make the most mistakes, so do the old doctors. The beginning doctors don't know what they are doing. The old doctors might forget how to do something or have trouble seeing. It really depends. If you don't trust your doctor ask for a different one or do a background check on them to find out details about them.
