Some were later ruled unconstitutional, but most remained throughout the forties, and some are still acting today. The most successful agencies were the WPA, or Works Progress Administration, the Social Security Act, and the Tennessee Valley Authority. Also successful were the FDIC, Truth in Secrecies Act, and the Rural Electreification Act, though the last came later.
