The left CV joint can be replaced on a 1989 Honda Accord by removing the left tire and the moving the brake lines. Next, the ball joint and the tie rod should be removed, which will allow for their to be enough room to use a pry bar against the transmission which will pop out the CV joint.
You have to take the control arm and ball joint to a shop and have them pressed together, otherwise it is easier to buy the new control arm with the ball joint already in it.
The 2001 Honda Accord lower ball joint torque specification is 90 pounds. The lower ball joint should be torqued in 45 pound intervals.

Under the air intake (close to the throttle body) there is a joint that the lower water hose attached to the engine. Open it and remove the old thermostat and replace it with the new one. It should take about 10 minutes.
