You can get at least the date of manufacture for free. If the firearm is old and has value, the Cody Museum in Wyoming will research the original shipment date and location of the first purchaser for a fee.
Winchester started using the G prefix to the serial number in January 1969.
You should be able to contact Winchester and see if you may find the year of production by serial number thru there archives. If not I do have the manufacture dates of the first 250,000 made. You will need to have your serial number available to research the date of manufacture.
In the year 1978, Winchester began building model '94 rifles using serial number 4565926.During that year,96,285 model 94's were produced.Serial 4580182 seems to fall into that time slot.
I posted a hotlink under the "related links" heading below. It's a database where you can submit the model and serial numbers and look up the date of manufacture.
Winchester started using the letter G in the year 1970 for the model 70 bolt action rifle.
If it has a serial number, by using the serial number. However, before 1968, no law required rifles and shotguns to HAVE a serial number, and many less expensive guns, such as .22 rifles, did not have a SN. If there is none, we can only go by the range of years that model was made.
You can determine the age. Often you can find the configuration of the gun by ordering a letter for its serial number from the Winchester Museum ($55), but it is cheaper and easier to determine this by looking at the gun. And one of the most important factors affecting the value of a gun or any other used object is the condition. The serial number does not tell you if it is in like new condition or broken and rusty. You can, however, detrermine the age by going to the following site and entering the serial number. http://armscollectors.com/sn/winlookup.php
You can't find it using the serial number, unless you use it to identify it in found items. Find My iPad and iPhone apps will show you on a map where the iPad is if it turned on and has not yet been wiped.
It was made in the last year of production- 1925. A few were assembled in later years using left over parts.
Usually not possible. More than one gun can have the same serial number.
The engine serial number is on a metal plate attached to the block, typically found on the left-hand side of the engine. The position of the engine plate varies across different engine series. You can find the position of your plate using the table below. Engine Serial Number composition
To find the year that any Winchester gun was made, you just need to know which model it is and what the serial number is (the model number and serial number are stamped on the gun itself). . Then go to this website and it will tell you when it was made: http://oldguns.net/sn_php/winmods.htm I tried that with no results. Nice site but they don't even list the Winchester Model 190 much less have the date of manufacture. So unless I'm missing something this site is useless, interesting but no help at all. I remember using this rifle was my father in the early to mid sixty's but no later than 1965 or 1966. So I guess until someone finds a better informational website I guess there's no answer.
