The only way I can explain it is to follow the wiring from your coil pack (where the spark plugs are) and the wires plug into the ignition module. Also go go www.wrenchead.ca and it has a manual that explains all.

The 1994 Ford Aerostar ignition control module is located on the firewall in the engine compartment. The ignition control module will be on the drivers side of the firewall.

I do not have an answer but I also have a 1994 Toyota Camry that will not start and has no spark, I swapped out the ignition module to no avail, the distributor and rotor appear fine. Any help

It could be the ICM or the pickup module.
1994 was the last year the Ranger used an ignition control module on the 2.3 and 2.5. The ignition control module was attached to the lower intake manifold.
The ignition module and coil are contained inside the distributor and are not serviced as separate parts.
Most likely it is the Ignition Control Module.

The engine computer (behind the battery) is the ignition module.
It is bolted inside the distributor under the rotor on bass plate
Owners manual, positive.
Remove the distributor cap and it will be bolted inside the distributor on the base plate.
