Lee Harvey Oswald was a man who never fit in; no matter what he tried, he always ended up alienating himself from the "group". He had the training, the skill, and the means to carry it out all by himself. Most of all, after all of his failures, he had the motivation to make this grand gesture to ensure that his name would always be a part of American history.

Lee Harvey Oswald did not kill John F Kennedy (JFK) , but was a patsy.

The Mafia killed JFK because Bobby Kennedy was "turning up the heat" on the Mafia.

Even after all the work the Mafia had done in Chicago to get JFK elected president in 1960.

Mafia hit man James Files has recently admitted to firing the fatal bullet, the blew JFK's brains

out towards the rear, from the infamous grassy knoll in Daily Plaza.

James Files worked together with another Mafia hit man to "take the trash out" as he put it.

He wanted to be famous and historical, and nothing else he had tried, including defecting to the USSR, worked.

Lee Harvey Oswald had an obsession for being famous and historical. He even labeled his diary, "Historic Diary".

Nothing he had tried up until then (defecting to Russia, returning, trying to assassinate General Walker, trying to start a Fair Play for Cuba branch with more than just him in it...), worked.

Then he read in the paper that President Kennedy would be driven past his place of work...

I don't think he had anything that much against the President, but being famous meant more.

Oswald wanted to be famous and historical, and nothing else he had tried, worked.

-------------------------------------------------------

We'll never know for absolutely certain why Oswald did it, the above is just the best we can do with our knowledge of him. Lee Harvey Oswald was assassinated himself two days later. We know that he had communist sympathies and had tried to legally renounce his US Citizenship.

There are some people who suggest conspiracy theories - for example, that Oswald was part of a plot to kill the President, whether it was by the USSR, the Mafia, Cuba, Kennedy's political rivals or even his Vice President (and successor) Lyndon Johnson. Some of the wildest theories go further and say that Oswald was framed.

There are all kinds of conspiracy theories but the whole truth may never be known. The most recent theory that I've heard is that Kennedy's policies did not did not please the Illuminati so they had him murdered. This would be more believable if the *real* Illuminati had not broken up in 1784!

It may have been as simple as Lee Harvey Oswald was a disgruntled nut.

Some honestly seem to think the most logical answer would be the fact that Mr. Kennedy would not sign off on Operation Northwoods. Operation Northwoods was a "false flag" operation which was designed by members of the United States military. Some even think, without any evidence of course, the CIA used Oswald as a Manchurian Candidate to carry out the assassination. They think the government has an unlimited and perfect capacity to keep secrets!

There is no evidence that Oswald knew or cared about Operation Northwoods, and still less evidence that Oswald or anyone else has *ever* been turned into a Manchurian Candidate. The human brain is simply too complex for even the techniques that might be available today, to do it. Conspiracy theorists will say, "but they used drugs!" but somehow are never able to name them, the dosage, etc. as no such drugs are known and proven to actually exist.

This is somewhat similar to how the conspiracy "theorists" claim that HAARP, an auroral research project with tours for the public, is the government's "magic wand" to do evil with... create earthquakes and tsunamis and the like. How auroras can be controlled into causing earthquakes, is never explained by them. I put the word "theorists" in quotation marks because theories have evidence. They are in fact hypothesizing, not theorizing, because hypotheses need no evidence-- they are just notions thrown out.

Oswald wanted to be famous and historic, and nothing he had done prior to this, had worked.

Nobody knows for sure because Oswald was murdered while in police custody and before he could be questioned extensively or come to trial.

He admired Marxism and had spent time In Russia so one might suspect that he was a hired assassin but extensive investigation did not uncover any evidence that such was the case. Maybe he just wanted to get people's attention .

One theory is the Cuban crisis. Another is the mob; another is Vietnam. But one thing is certain: The President of South Vietnam, Diem; and the President of the US, Kennedy; were BOTH assassinated in 1963!

This is just my theory... no concrete evidence...I think Oswald shot Kennedy because of what Kennedy was planning to do with his time as President.

Kennedy wanted to help black people gain the same rights as whites had. He was a communist. He was very anti- slavery and all that jazz.

Apparently Lee Harvey Oswald read left-wing papers, papers which were very much anti-government.

The real reason that Oswald shot Kennedy is unknown, as Jack Ruby, a Dallas nightclub owner killed him before he had the chance to speak.

So the mystery of JFK will stay unknown for as long as we live...

hope that 'helped' with your question. :) :D

You could write a book to answer this question, but in short terms, he just wanted some respect from the Commies.

I don't we will ever know for sure. Oswald was murdered while in police custody and before he could be questioned extensively or come to trial. Oswald had ties with Russia and everybody thought that maybe the Russians or Cubans or Chinese hired him and that that he was murdered to keep him from talking but a very extensive investigation by top people did not turn up any solid evidence of any conspiracy or any reason except the Oswald decided on his own to do it.

Apparently, because he wanted to be famous, (he even called his diary "Historic Diary"!) and nothing else he had tried had worked. This includes defecting to the USSR and returning, going on the radio to speak in favor of Castro, trying to start a Fair Play for Cuba branch that had members other than himself, trying to assassinate General Walker...

Then he read in the newspaper that JFK would be driven by his place of work...

Lee Harvey Oswald was a Marxist who wanted to be famous and historical, and nothing else he had tried, including another attempted assassination, had worked.Nobody knows for sure because Oswald was murdered while in police custody and before he could be questioned extensively or come to trial.

He admired Marxism and had spent time In Russia so one might suspect that he was a hired assassin but extensive investigation did not uncover any evidence that such was the case. Maybe he just wanted to get people's attention .

Or he attempted to kill someone else but he missed and shot JFK.

Oswald was never really popular with the Soviets (which was pretty much his life's goal), no matter what he did to impress them. So on the night before 11/22/63, he announced to them that he was going to take out the President of the U.S. in a final, desperate move to get noticed.

No one knows for sure. He was killed while in police custody soon after he killed Kennedy. One theory is that he wanted to feel important- to be someone the world would have to be aware of. He did have ties with Communist Russia and this was the cold war but the theory that he was a hired assassin for Russia or maybe Cuba was never substantiated by any evidence.

The story was Oswald was a communist sympathizer and he hated capitalism. Whether that is true or not is anyone's guess.
