I assume you have a 96 and up vehicle. If the light is blinking and then eventually it will stay on, it's always been a misfire code for me. Take your car to an autozone or advance auto parts and they will read the code for you. It will usually be plugs, wires, or a coil, depending on your car. Hope this helps.
Anti-freeze is leaking in to or on to hot engine.
rickie smells rickie smells rickie smells
The check engine light will blink when you're engine is misfiring. The smell from the cat is raw(unburned gas) hitting it....which can cause some pretty bad smells and also ruin your cat. Sounds like you need some plugs and wires.
When your car smells like the engine is hot, is the engine hot? If it smells hot and the engine is not hot, then you have coolant escaping onto a hot surface. You may have bad radiator hoses, a leaky radiator, a blown gasket, or some other problem. You need to find the leak.
If engine has fuel pump mounted on the engine then it is leaking gas into crankcase.
Have you spilt some on the radiator?
When it is blinking, it means that damage is being done to the converter. You smell fuel because it is running so rich. There is possibly a sensor the has gone bad and is telling the computer to add more fuel. There is so much going into the motor than it can burn it and some of the overflow is getting into the converter unburned. I am sure it is also getting into your oil. This can not only thin the oil but damage the lower end of the engine as the fuel acts a solvent, stopping the oil from being a lubricant. Get it checked out at an independent garage and get the oil changed at the same time-asap.
95 s10 blazer has a miss and check engine light does not come on and exhaust smells gassy what could it be
The car exhaust smells like the rotten eggs as a result of the hydrogen sulphide. This usually happens, when the engine is not serviced for a long time.
Oil on engine burning as engine overheats. Sort of common sense, don't ya think?
you have gasoline leaking into the engine when stopped could be a faulty injector
A car heater that smells like burning rubber could be an indication of a belt that is slipping. The slipping belt smell can be drawn in from the engine compartment into the passenger cabin.
