Two possible reasons, 1. The steering rack and pinion is going bad! This is common in high mileage GM vehicles. this if your pump is in good condition.... 2. Check the rear stub frame body insulators to body. The metal washers go bad letter the complete stub frame drop down causing misaligment in all movable parts. I haave had min. of 3 in the past year seems to effect all large Buick models, Park Avenue and Lesabres
check power steering fluid level

This is part of the DRL module below and left of steering column. You must remove lower steering column panel to see it. Very difficult to access.
a steering yolk is making it alot easier to steer. less tension while turning. helps you out very very much. dillonwerbeski
Steering U joint needs lubricating. Known problem.
sounds like either your power steering is going out, or you are low on power steering fluid
It will be very difficult to steer your vehicle.
The rack and pinion steering unit needs to be replaced
A bad alternator. Turning the steering wheel all the way is very demanding on the power steering which draws power from the engine and can cause the idle to dip down. A weak alternator is usually the cause for the stalling.
I would guess you have worn steering parts. Have your steering and suspension parts inspected ASAP. This can be very dangerous.
Rear diff fluid
This is part of the DRL unit on left side of steering column below dash. Very difficult to access. A manual or video is handy to show exact location.
