It was was invaded by the Germans, they won the 3 punic wars, they burnt the city of Carthage after winning the punic wars, they invaded the Mediterranean countries, it formed from a republic to an empire, their first emperor was Octavian (also known as: "Augustus" which also means the "respect one", Rome loosened much power when the Germans invaded Rome, Christians were tortured when they tried to spread Christianity, Rome had 5 good emporers and the rest were evil.

Those are the only facts I know about the Roman Empire, they're 8 facts and I hope this answer gets to be improved.

What's interesting is in the mind of the interested.

Here are three facts I think are interesting:

  1. Roman men were free to have sexual relations outside marriage with impunity.
  2. Men were also free to engage in sex with other men without loss of masculinity or social status so long as they took the dominant male role.
  3. Much of ordinary Roman life surrounded eating. If the head of the house (always a man) had guests, the main meal, called cena, might last four hours.
