Part of the same assembly inside the gas tank...common dave
For the fuel pump, check your fuses and relays,go to your vehicles owner manual if you are not sure where they are located, usually the fuse block covers will show you what is what. And for the gauge, either the gauge is bad,of something has come disconnected from the connector at the fuel tank,or somewhere along the line. That or another fuse.
The Fuel pump sending unit has gone bad. Replace fuel pump assembly, not just the pump.
I have a 1999 s-10 my fuel gauge quit working I had to replace my fuel pump that fixed my proplem
a bad ground
make sure that floating thing in the fuel tank is position right or working. The fuel gauge won't be working right if its stuck in one position. Hope that helps...

in the fuel tank it's part of the fuel pump
Bad fuel sending unit in tank however it is part of the fuel pump assembly
are you sure you reconnected the wire to the gauge when you did the fuel pump? also the gauge requires a good ground to the tank. its possible you don't have a good connection. just some thoughts.
Sounds like you have kink in your fuel line somewhere.

But there is an underlying issue when your guess gauge is not working- your fuel pump is going..Like I said it took two years and bam, fuel pump went. When they replaced it by gas gauge began to work again. This line is tied into the both the gauge and fuel pump..It cost me $1,000 from the dealer plus towing...
