A friend had the same problem. He finally gave up on correcting it and took it to a shop. It turned out that he had a bad brake line. As I understand it, the damaged area was allowing uneven pressure (left vs. right) on the front brakes and allowing it to pull to one side on pavement, and lock that same side up on gravel and slick surfaces. Assuming this is a 4+4 vehicle, the caliper bolts on to the caliper bracket. The caliper bracket bolts on to the steering knuckle.
