GM oil pressure senders have a pretty high failure rate. Since your van is 10 years old, and pressure senders are not too expensive, I would start by replacing your sender...there's a pretty high likelihood that you will eventually replace it anyway.
The 1994 Chevrolet Astro V-6 engine temperature sending unit can be located on the front of the engine. The temperature sending unit will be next to the thermostat housing.
Should be about 60psi running, should hold more than 50 with the engine off.
At the rear of the engine next to the distributor.
the oil pressure sender is under the ditributer on the back side of the intake manifold... it looks like a small coke can with a two wire conector. this is an astro van 2wd

I remove the fuel pump fuse or relay while the engine is running. The engine will run until the pressure has dropped. Leave the fuse or relay out until you have finished replacing the fuel filter.
It should be around 50 PSI, or better.
At idle: `13-20 psi Key on engine off: 23-31 psi
A 1995 Chevy Astro Van is rated at 210 degrees Fahrenheit avg temperature when at normal engine operation. Other years close to this year are the same.
need more info, engine-details- have you checked vacuum with gauge? etc.
