It is the body control module It always starts out sparadic then you will get a service engine soon light and a service light !!
The factory alarm causing the issue would be the security light flashing above the RPM guage. If the security light is flashing and the car will not start, follow the directions listed below. To reset the factory alarm, turn the ignition switch to the "on" position NOT the start position for 15min. You will see the security light go off after 15min.
Usually the brake fluid is low and the float/switch in the reservoir is causing the light to go on & off as you go around corners & stop & start. Also possible its an ABS issue if the car is so equipped.

Most likely one of your pulleys/accessories has a bearing going out and seizes intermittently causing it to fly.
The dealer says it is a faulty abs module causing the engine to go into shut down. no recall from Ford.

I thought I had the same problem with my grand am, and it turned out that I needed to go to the dealer and have the transmission fluid flushed, and changed. It seem this is not someone a car owner can do unless they have a way to pick the front end up to let the ait out of it. I had to do it around 80,000 miles
