Hey Pat YOur owners manual should tell you which maintaince is required when. If you don't have an owners manual sometimes you can get one at MOTORLIT.COM. GoodluckJoe
it means time to get the oil changed a friendly reminder
As stated, it is a reminder to change your oil. To reset it, push the odometer button until it shows the actual odometer (not the trip odometer). Hold the odometer button in while you turn the key on and of (don't start the car). When you turn the key on again you'll see a set of lines there, which disappear one by one, once they are all gone you can let go of the button. This resets it for another 5000 miles.
You will find that info in the owners manual.
You are approaching the mileage for your next oil change.
Time for oil change
it simply means it's time for an oil change.

It means you need to take it in and get serviced. Does it to me when its about time for an oil change.
1. Set your ODO to Trip A 2. Turn off ignition 3. Hold ODO button 4. Turn on ignition 5. Hold ODO button until Maintenance Required light stops flashing
it means when the maintenance light is on
If you just want the light to just go away and not come on anymore then google how to turn off the maintance required light on your year accord. The same thing happened to me on my 04 accord and I did what was said online and it has not come back on.
The Maintenance Required Light is not the same as the Check Engine Light. The Maintenance Required Light is telling you that there is scheduled maintenance that needs to be performed. It may mean it needs an oil/filter change. To find out what needs to be done look at the maintenance schedule in your owner's manual.
The check engine light comes on when the ECU detects a problem with the emission system. The maintenance required light comes on when some maintenance is required on the vehicle such as an oil/filter change.
