I'm having the same problem on my 96 Ford Taurus. I just heard that a sensor could have been unplugged causing the brakes to lock up and the light to come on. Or the sensor could be damaged. My tires will turn 3/4 of a turn and then lock up on the other 1/4 of a turn. I'll find out soon, taking it apart in a few minutes. Good luck.
Light is usually comes on, when there is a problem with pressure in brake lines. Inspect the brake fluid level, and check for leaks.
Your brakes are failing
check fluid level
fix your brakes
your park brakes are on
As long as the red " BRAKE " light is not on in your dash you still have " normal " brakes even with the ABS light on
You probably need to change your back brakes.
In most new cars the parking brake light is also activated when the linings of your brakes wear out.
No not at all, the actual brakes/wheels have nothing to do with your brake lights! the issue will be of electrical origin.. I would suggest start by looking at the siwitch that will be attached on the stem of your brake pedal.. however electrical problems can be a right pain to locate.. best of luck.
You have stepped on the brakes
Is it the parking brake light or the ABS light? is it red light or amber?
New brakes have nothing to do with it. The prolem is with the Anti-lock Brake System, and not the brakes themselves. Take it to a professional.
