The emergency brake cable is connected to the brake shoe on the rear brakes. You can adjust the emergency brake by loosening or tightening the nut on the end of the cable.

the e-brake is actually inside the rear rotor housing. there is an access hole just like on regular drum brakes and you can turn the turnbuckle screw from there

the emergency brake is drum brake inside the hub of the disk brake. to adjust them is the same as adjusting any other drum brake get underneath the car and you will find a asmall rubber cover on the back of the drum.remove that and you can insert small screwdriver or adjusting tool to adjust your brakes
at the rear brakes. remove wheels, & brake drums, adjust rear brakes to specs, and the E-brake will automatically be adjusted.
Remove the rear tire and wheels. Remove the emergency brake shoe spring. The brake shoe will come off. Reverse the process to install the new brake shoe.
the emergency brakes are drum type brakes inside the rear brake disk on each wheel.if you know how o adjust drum brakes it is the same adjustment for emergency brake on this vehicle. on the back of the drum there is a small rubber cap. remove this cap and with a flat screwdriver or adjuster tool, you turn the the serated wheel inside the brake drum to adjust the brake shoes out till nearly touching the brake drum it is best to do this with the rear wheels jacked up off the ground, so you can spin the wheel while adjusting. by spinning wheel you will feel when brake shoe is starting to slow wheel and you will then know to stop adjusting. do this on both wheels if you over adjust you will burn brakes out and have to replace brake shoes. this is a pain as you have to remove the disk brake caliper and rotoar to get at the emergency brake
How do you adjust parking brake on 2002 cadiliac escapade ext
Disc brakes , front and rear ( there are also a small set of brake shoes in the backside of the rear rotors that are used for the parking / emergency brake )
you dont adjust you replace brake shoes
You don't "re-set" them. You can adjust the emergency brake sensing switch by adjusting its position relative to the emergency brake foot pedal. When the switch is adjusted properly it will automatically go out when the emergency brake is released. The brake system warning light is more serious matter. It cannot be "re-set" it is a trouble signal from the vehicle's on-board computer that it has sensed trouble with the vehicle's braking system. Get it looked at and diagnosed ASAP - your brake system is not operating properly.
