You have to be fully 14 years old to get the basic, limited motorcycle driver's license. You must have finished 8th grade. You have to take written tests based on the vehicle manual and traffic laws. You need two form of an ID as well as a copy of your birth certificate. Before getting the license, you have to be trained by a responsible person older than 21 years and who holds a valid driving license which allows him or her to drive motorcycles. This person must drive with you for 30 days, or at least see you driving. After this training period, you can take the test. There are restrictions such as the bike cannot be larger than 250 cc, and you can only drive between 4.40 AM and 9 PM. You may not drive on an interstate highway or turnpike. You must wear a helmet until you are 18 years old. When you become 16 these restrictions are no longer in effect except the helmet thing.
