An air pump check valve comes in a variety of sizes. This type of valve can be purchased for about 12 dollars to about 40 dollars depending on the size required.

Where is the secondary air pump check valve on a trailblazer?

The 2006 did not have one.

Can you put a check valve in line to a water pump if the foot valve is leaking?

It will only work properly if you put it very close to the foot valve. In which case you may as well replace the foot valve - it's not difficult to do. If you put it at or near the pump, the pump will just suck air.

What causes air to get into your well water if a check valve is working as it should?

If you have a union in the suction piping as many well systems do it may be the culprit. some times tightening the union will fix the problem.Another place air can enter is through the pump seal,if it is worn it may allow air to be pulled into the pump when it is running. replacing the seal can sometimes fix the problem. If you are losing the prime on your well system the problem is between the check valve and the well,if not the problem is between the check valve and the pump.

E-350 Ford Humming Noise from Air Intake?

Check the idle air control valve (IAC valve). If dirty clean or replace. Also check air/smog pump. Be sure intake fins on that are clean. Even if clean, could be causing the noise.

A bicycle tire inflates when you pump air into a valve on one side?

If the pump, valve, and tube are OK - yes.

Your air blows in the cab but when you accellerate the air stops blowing inside you were told it could be the air pump exhaust check valve where is the check valve located on a 96 dodge ram 1500?

Follow a thin black plastic line from the firewall to the right side of the intake, the round thins in between are check valves.

Can you remove an air pump on a Chevy 350?

Better known as a smog pump. Check with state inspections if they require emision testing. As far as if it will hurt the motor, No it will not, an the increase in horse power is really not significant. Most problems are with the gulp valve or diverter valve which causes back fire when throttling back. Air pump failure is due to carbon siezure from check valves on exaust.

Can a leaky check valve on a well pump line cause low water pressure?

No. Low pressure is a function of the well tank. Your pressure tank must have an adequate air pressure to maintain water pressure. A leaky check valve is not good news however, and will cause your pump to run excessively. This valve should be replaced ASAP.

Why won't your bicycle pump will not pump air out?

It's likely there's a rupture in the diaphragm that pulls the air into the chamber and then pushes it out to the valve. There are two "reed" valves in the pump that only allows the air to go in one direction with each valve. So when you pull up on the handle to fil the pump, one valve allows air in, but not out when you push down on the handle. Another valve at the bottom of the pump allows the air out when the handle is pushed down, going to the tire. There is another vavle on the tire that is opened only with the pumps adaptor, to allow air into the tire.

Code po 410 on your olds aurora 3.5 v6 engine?

First check the 50 amp fuses in the underhood fuse block.another common thing that can cause that code is one or both of the air diverter valves(check valves)that are vaccumcontrolled by the bypass valve solenoid.these two valves get stuck and do not allow the air from the pump(smog pump)to enter the exhaust.the valves are slver, and have small tubes running into the exhaust manifolds.they have 1 vaccum hose on them. One is above the belt, near the firewall, the other is near the dr. Side of the front valve cover.use a vaccum pump to see if the valves hold vaccum after making sure the solenoid is supplying vaccum when the air pump(smog pump)turns on.another common thing that can cause that code is the air pump(smog pump). The air pump forces pressurized fresh air into the pipes/hoses and past the check valves into the exhaust manifold, accelerating catalyst operation.the spinning vanes of the air pump(smog pump)force air into the diverter valve.during accelaration air is forced through the diverter valve, the check valve, the air injection manifold, and into the exhaust stream.during deceleration the diverter valve blocks air flow, preventing a backfire that could damage the exhaust system.when needed, the diverter valve will release excess pressure to the air cleaner.the code p0410 is the secondary air injection system.the secondary air injection system reduces exhaust emissions following initial engine start up.the components of this system are the air pump(smog pump),the diverter valve, the air ditribution manifold; both known as exhaust manifold and exhaust headers, and the air check valve.the air injection system is designed to introduce clean air to the engine exhaust as it exits the exhaust manifold or exhaust headers.exhaust gases are at their hottest as they leave the combustion chambers. Introducing oxygen to the exhaust at this point allows continued burning of the fuel mixture as it travels down the exhaust system and ultimately out of the tailpipe.

What do piston do in a car?

A piston draws air into the cylinder through an intake port. The intake valve closes and the air/fuel mixture compresses as the piston moves back up. Once the mixture is fully compressed, it is ignited and explodes forcing the piston down (this is known as the power stroke). An exhaust valve opens and the burned gases are expelled out of the cylinder as the piston moves back up to complete its cycle. This is different from a heart valve. A heart valve would be similar to a bicycle tire pump though. As the piston draws air into the air chamber, the valve opens to allow the air to fill the chamber. the piston then, changes direction and pushes that valve closed and opens another valve to allow the air to be pushed out the air line. The difference is in the valves. a bicycle pump uses check valves. Check valves allow flow in one direction.
