At this stage, yes the ultrasound can be off by 10 days. Mine was off by ten days the other way, that is I thought I was 18 weeks and the ultrasound said 16 and a half. I knew when I had conceived because my husband had been away on a trip.

How would you know if you were pregnant with twins at eight weeks?

The only sure way of knowing you are pregnant with twins is by ultrasound. An ultrasound at 8 weeks would show if you were carrying a multiple pregnancy.

I have an ultrasound scheduled on the 30th of this month if I am pregnant would they be able to see anything on the ultrasound even though it is only two weeks after ovulation?

If you were pregnant the developing embryo would be about the size of the head of a pin. The embryo is not the first sign of pregnancy found on ultrasound; the yolk sac shows up long before the embryo is visible. The yolk sac can't be seen uon ultrasound until at least four weeks after the last period.

You were 16 weeks pregnant your ultrasound said that the baby size was 18 weeks which one should you do by?

The ultrasound dating has excellent and precise estimation of gestation especially if done in the first trimester (first 12 weeks). After 12 weeks, its accuracy goes down. However, compared to dating according to menstrual cycle, the ultrasound would be more accurate.

You found out today you were 4 weeks pregnant the nurse at your job gave you an ultrasound said she seend blood around the sack she told you to come get another ultrasound next week what do you think?

Hello, Blood can be difficult to see on a ultrasound. Picture a ultrasound picture, the images are grey and hazy. Also if you are 4 weeks pregnant the pregnancy would not be visible on a ultrasound scan until you were 6 weeks pregnant. The only person who can accurately and thoroughly read a ultrasound is a Radiographer or a Obstetrician Doctor. I would make a appointment with your Doctor, have a pregnancy blood test performed and book a ultrasound scan for 2-3 weeks time. You need a quantitative beta HCG blood test to measure the level of HCG in your blood which will also tell you if your pregnancy is viable. Good luck.

Why would a vet use a ultrasound machine on a pregnant endangered animal?

Same reason as why pregnant women are ultrasounded - to check on the progress of the pregnancy, and the health of the fetus.

What would be the most logical reason that a baby would measure 4 weeks ahead on an ultrasound and can a scan be that much off?

If it is an early scan you must have got pregnant the month before. If it is a late scan (after 30 weeks) you may have a big baby. An early scan cannot be 4 weeks off. http://www.genetree.com/about/conception-calculator.asp

If you are pregnant how long would it take to see the baby in an ultrasound or even pap smear?

You can usually see the sac on ultrasound at five weeks. It may be six weeks until you can see an embryo. A pap smear can't tell if you're pregnant; it's a screening test for cervical cancer and precancerous changes on the cervix.

If an ultrasound says you are 17 weeks and 3 days pregnant is that the day you conceived or would it be that date plus an extra 2 weeks?

That means it is the date conceived (or within 48 hours of). It is never right on, but within a week of. Go by what the ultrasound says. No, if your ultrasound says 17 weeks and 2 days that would be that date plus 2 extra weeks, that is around the time of your last period, unless you have irregular periods or conceived straight after a miscarriage or something. The length of pregnancy is always measured from your last period even by ultrasound.

I am 7 weeks pregnant my doctor thinks it could be an ectopic pregnancy would I be in pain?

Not necessarily. I had an ectopic pregnancy that was not discovered until my 1st ultrasound at 10 weeks. I had no pain or bleeding at all.

Can a ultrasound show if you are two weeks pregnant?

It is not likely, the most you would see is the gestational sack. The heartbeat cannot even be detected until week 5.

What happens if you're 8 weeks 6 days pregnant according to an ultrasound but no heart beat is detected but you still have no bleeding no signs of miscarriage?

I would talk to your doctor
